Steps Involved in Uterine Transplantation

• Preoperative Evaluation: Before the transplant is performed, both the recipient and the donor are placed under extensive medical checkups. The recipient is carefully assessed to ensure that her overall health, fertility potential, and ability to take immunosuppressant drugs after the surgery are all sound. The donor's uterus is also placed under extensive checkup to confirm that it is healthy and free of conditions such as fibroids or infections.
