On 30th October 2022, 2000+ residents actively participated in “Pink up the Pace”, a 5 km run for Breast Cancer awareness organized by BGS Gleneagles Hospital in association with RunAddicts and Rotary Bengaluru Gnanakshi Club. The run covered a stretch of 5 km starting from Kempegowda Playground and ending at BGS Gleneagles Hospital, Kengeri. This program included a Zumba session along with the success stories shared by the survivors of cancer.
The front was led by Dr. Monika Pansari, HOD and Sr. Consultant Surgical Oncology, who spoke on the importance of early detection and screening of breast cancer through mammography and it can reduce the mortality rate by 25-30% by detecting early stages of breast cancer. This event was a grand success because of the support from students of BGS Management School and employees of BGS Gleneagles Hospital who volunteered for this awareness program.
