Dr Girish Bhalerao is one of the most prominent and influential names in the Indian medical fraternity for orthopaedics. He has completed his under-graduation from Grant Medical College and Sir JJ group of hospitals, Mumbai and post-graduation from Sancheti Institute of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation, Pune. He has also worked as an assistant professor at LTMMC, Sion and K. J. Somaiya Medical College & hospital, Sion. Dr Girish has gained higher advanced surgical training across several high volume Centres for Trauma spine, arthroplasty and Arthroscopy from India, UK, Portugal, and Germany.
He has profound knowledge and has gained vast experience in all latest principles of arthroplasty with specialisation in Computer Navigated, Robotic Arm assisted, Minimally Invasive- muscle sparing, Customised Total and Partial, Complex Primary and Revision Joint Replacement surgery for Hip Knee and Shoulder utilising an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery(ERAS) protocol that achieves rapid recovery with excellent pain management to provide a painless experience during the post-operative period.
He also runs pro ship program to train young aspiring surgeons in the field of Robotic Joint Replacement and Arthroscopic surgeries at various Cadaver Centres of India, Singapore, Thailand. Dr Girish Bhalerao is an active member of Indian Society of hip and knee surgeons(ISHKS), Indian arthroplasty Association(IAA), British Indian orthopaedic Society(BIOS)and Bombay orthopaedic Society(BOS) with faculty member at latest prestigious WIROC conference, December 2024.
Dr Girish Bhalerao also specialises in treatment of sports injuries related to high intensity sports like football, etc.; along with degenerative tears involving peri-articular soft tissue pathology of all joints (Knee, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip & Ankle) by arthroscopic sub-centimetre keyhole surgeries. He is first Indian surgeon to be trained at FIFA Centre of medical excellence, Portugal with close association to UEFA Champion League teams of FC Porto, FC Barcelona and FC Paris- Saint Germain.
