Government service
- I joined as assistant surgeon in 1997, later took up the meritorious DM course at the prestigious Madras Medical College which actually offered only one seat for the entire state.
- I became the assistant professor in the same Madras Medical College.
- Professor: I was promoted as professor and was heading the department at Kilpauk medical college (KMC). During this tenure KMC was mounted onto the transplant map of Chennai with first “across the blood group transplants” in any Government sector apart from 70 kidney transplants.
- Medical superintendent: I acquired about 2 years of experience in admin side as Medical superindentent at KMC.
- Currently I am heading the department of Paediatric Nephrology at Institute Of Child Health for the past 2 and half years. I have started the prestigious paediatric transplant programme. I have started high end procedures like CRRT in Paediatrics and in new born and the unique hemodiafiltration at ICH.
Private sector
- Kumaran Hospitals and Aysha Hospitals at Kilpauk were the hospitals where we mutually nurtured each other for the past 18 years. About 100 kidney transplants (including ABO incompatible ones and cadavers) and dialysis services (best number 1500 per month) were done.
- Chettinad Super speciality Hospitals: I am heading the nephrology team of 4 for the past 4 years. We have done 40 transplants so far. We have done the highest number of transplants during Covid era. Dialysis services include about 1200 dialysis per month and CRRT.
- Rainbow Hospitals: I am a part of two member team who have initiated the transplant programme. We started off with ABO incompatible transplant in Pediatrics which is a rarity.
